Greg Wilson should need no introduction for any lover of dance music. His story is something of legend, holding down a residency at Manchester’s infamous Hacienda Club throughout the 1980s . The same club that broke artists like Madonna and The Smiths and would impact the entire Rave and House scene. Greg Wilson was instrumental in breaking the new electronic, post-disco records defining New York, a sound he dubbed as ‘Electro-Funk’. After a two decade retirement from DJing, Greg Wilson’s notoriety has exploded, touching a new audience throughout the noughties. Nominated by DJ magazine for outstanding contribution, and also named amongst their top twenty remixers of all-time, Greg’s edits and mixes continue to feature on the playlists of DJ’s in every continent. As part of their Essential Mix 500 special, Radio 1 selected Greg’s Essential Mix as one of 10 classics that spanned the show’s near 17 year history. Greg Wilson returns to Brisbane for what will surely be yet another classic performance.
